Group assignments - participants

  • Updated

When working on a group assignment with your fellow students, each group member is expected to contribute. By adding your group members as contributors to the assignment, your teacher can see who collaborated and who submitted what.

How do you recognize a group assignment?

When browsing through the assignments in a course, you’ll see various icons that indicate the assignment’s characteristics. One of these icons is this:

This indicates that you are dealing with a group assignment. The number specifies how many participants are required to collaborate on this assignment.

Forming a group

When you need to complete a group assignment on the platform, you indicate in the assignment who belongs to the group. At the bottom of the assignment, you’ll find where to add group members.

Click on "Add group members" above the submit button. A menu will expand on the right where you can enter names. Here, you can add group members one by one. Group members can also add or remove other students.

You can also remove group members if needed. Do this by clicking on the three dots next to a group member’s name. Make sure to communicate clearly with your fellow students when deciding how to form the groups.

Submitting a group assignment

The members of your group can work on the assignment together. It doesn't matter who in the group uploads the documents; you can make arrangements about that among yourselves. For instance, each of you can submit a part, or one group member can submit everything on behalf of the rest. What works best depends on the assignment. The person who uploads the final or sole submission clicks "Submit" at the bottom of the assignment. Your coach will provide one assessment that applies to all of you. If your work is approved, everyone will receive the amount of XP that the assignment is worth.
